$19.90 Sold Out
The USS Iowa (BB-61) was the first ship in America’s newest class of large and agile battleships that were built for World War II. The IOWA class of ships are large, fast battleships that would be built for the World War II effort. She is 887 feet 3 inches long, and at the tallest point is over 187 feet over the water line. There were 4 ships before her that had the name USS Iowa also.
She was commissioned on February 22, 1943 and retired and commissioned 2 separate times until finally being retired for the last time on October 26th 1990.
The Iowa was a true example of how strong the Navy is a testament to the men and women that serve and Americans ability to fight and be ready anywhere and any time.
I would like to dedicate this patch to my mother Jamie whom is from the state of Iowa, the ships namesake. My mom is the strongest person I know. If i had to classify her as a ship she'd definitely be a battleship. So heres to my mom, heres to iowa. Cheers.
